What's the name of this movie?

Ok so in the beginning you see a type of business place i guess and the people there are like reporters for a tabloid or something. So they're looking for a new story or something and as they're reading letters by fans (I think) then they see this one letter by an old lady that says an angel is watching over her and helping her and living in her house so she asks them to come to her house to see for themselves. Then it's decided that this was a good idea so 3 of the reporters or whatever they are go down to the little old lady's house and they take the dog that's the company's mascot or whatever because the little old lady is a fan of the dog (idk) and so they get to her house and she welcomes in the 3 people (2 guys and 1 woman) and then the little old lady calls upstairs saying "Michael! Come down and meet the guests!" or something alone those lines and the woman says "Oh I can smell the angel. Smell just like sweet peppermint." (or something i have no idea i forgot) and then down the stairs comes the angel Michael and he quite frankly looks like a bum. His hairs all messed up from sleeping, he's in his boxers (i think?) and he's smoking a cigarette (i think) and that shocks the 3 people. but they see he has wings so it must be an angel and stuff and so the old lady almost dies as she's making eggs or something but then she's ok but then really dies and then i forget why but the angel and 3 people embark on a journey somewhere (possibly back to the company? i remember hearing chicago though...hmm...i forgot) and so the angel fixes himself up and then as they're about to go, he says to them that something will happen and they will hurt him or something but he says that they have to promise not to apologise until he says so and they agree then he also requests to do some sight-seeing because he has to go soon or something and so they go to see the biggest ball of yarn or something and he also fights with a bull and stuff. I really don't think i watched much more past that though that's a pretty detailed description of what i remember of the movie i would think... please help me remember the name of this movie! I've looked in the past for it but i couldn't find it...
