I need help in video card matters badly..pls help me tnx?

I recently bought a video card to upgrade my existing video card. I bought a 256 ddr video card. My question is is it ok to install the new video card(256mb)DDR to my motherboard which has SD RAM memory?will it work just fine or not?the slot is AGP. need your help tnx.
