Should I ask him about his feelings towards me?

I have a crush on this guy whom ive known since we're kids.now im 18 and he's 21.we didnt get in touch for years until i met him unexpectedly in this college that i just got into last year.i see him quite often as we joined the same club.but the people around start teasing him about him having crush on me bcos we'r close.he told my close friend he doesnt like his friends teasing him and i actually dont know whats the reason.since that,we seldom chat because both of us r scared if ppl start teasing.recently he asked me out to see a movie.he told me that its his present from him for my bday.i did try asking him about the reason why we cant act normally in front of others but he said he's still trying his best.and out of the blue he said sorry for still not able acting easy and normally in front of his frinds.what im so curious now is that if he doesnt have any feeling towards me why is he being so nervous with me.i just dont get it.what should i do now?
